Add Items to the cart via php

Postby flashsyndrome » Mon Apr 05, 2010 6:52 pm

Hi Michael,
First I would like to thank you for this great product. The integration works great and I am now looking at making some customization.
I am using the JUMI pluggin in order to add PHP to my articles.
Could you let me know the following:
Is it possible to add an item to your cart via PHP?
I am new to joomla and I tried to echo your tag in a php script embedded to an article without any success. Would you know how to achieve that?(right now it is just writing out the tag...)
Is it possible to modify the layout of the add to cart display?

Thanks again!

I would try to echo the actual Google Cart button in your PHP, not the plugin tag. You'll end up kind of bypassing the tag portion of the plugin, but it would work just fine with the cart.

You can customize plugins cart by adjusting the CSS which is exposed in the plugin parameters. As for adjusting the button/product listing that replaces the tags, that will be tricker. It will require editing the actual plugin code. The important thing to remember is that all of the class names for the various elements in the button code have to remain the same. The cart uses these classes to retrieve information about the product.

~ Cheers!
