No IPNs / Transactions received…

Postby nolik » Sun Nov 20, 2011 1:06 pm

Hello Michael,
I appreciate your help, But I have to ask a support from you again, because I tried already everything I could imagine.

First: IPN log in On. PayPal "Recieve IPN" in On.
NicePayPalDownloads seems to work, but I newer got any IPN from PP in both TestSandbox and Real PayPal transactions.

I’ve set everything by the book. NicePayPalDownloads sets by default, except PP e-mail addresses.
Before you continue to reed my post, I appreciate if you comment on:

1. Do I have to register my NicePayPalDownloads purchase with TriniTronic in order to activate it to start working?
2. I’ve being using my website URLs aliasing (SEO settings ON) but I tried it with SEO settings all OFF. No IPNs… Can I use NicePayPalDownloads with SEO setting ON in order it works properly?

So, now how a few screenshots of my process:
NicePayPalDowloads:

Sandbox IPN test message:

PayPal success message:

Success Return to my site:

But no IPNs / Transactions records:

Where my setup mistakes are could be located?
Thanks.

No, you do not have to register the extension with my site. It is yours to use freely.

2. I’ve being using my website URLs aliasing (SEO settings ON) but I tried it with SEO settings all OFF. No IPNs… Can I use NicePayPalDownloads with SEO setting ON in order it works properly?

This should not matter. I have heard in a few instances of people using the sh404sef extension, that they had to add the Nice PayPal downloads to the sh404sef exclude list. I have nto confirmed this.

The issue is that the IPN messages do not seem that they are being received correctly by the NPD extension. But, PayPal is indicating that they sent the IPN messages out.

1. Double check your PayPal account to make sure that you have properly enabled IPN messaging.
2. Do a quick check for errors on the IPN receiving page, go to http://yourdomain.com/index.php?option=com_nicepaypaldownloads&controller=Ipn&task=ipn (replace your domain with your domain). Do you see an error?

Let's start their and then proceed as we find out more.

~ Best regards

Michael,

1. I uninstalled NicePayPalDownloads.
2. I cleared cash on the server and in browser.
3. Installed NPPD again. Set it to log IPNs.
4. Double checked PayPal setup, and did extensive “IPN Simulator” use with different parameters.
5. There are recieved test E-MAILs in PayPalTestAccount with different status and params.
6. Tried "Log IPNs" radiobutton in both positions several times

NO any trace of any IPN in joomla! I’m F..ing lucky!

I do not really looking forward to reinstall entire joomla website, but I do not really understand what is going on….

Hi,

I don't think I would go so far as to reinistall Joomla.

What happened when you visited http://yourdomain.com/index.php?option=com_nicepaypaldownloads&controller=Ipn&task=ipn (obviously, you need to replace yourdomain.com with your domain.)?

~ Thanks

Good morning Michael,
I tried to communicate with support team of my HostingProvider. All of them asking the same question:

Which modules / components we have to enable /disable on the server (Apache, PHP5.2) in order to match developer’s requirements. So, I appreciate if you provide me with the link to specifications we have to meet in order NicePayPalDownloads works properly.

Thanks.
Ilya.

Hi Ilya,

I would be happy to take a look at your installation for you. I would need a temporary super administrator's account. If you are interested, you can email me the login information. Or, you can send it via private message.

Let me know.

By the way, the screen shot of your IPN page looks good. There is no error, the page is blank, which is exactly what we want.

Michael,
I tried everything I could imagine. Finally I did:

1. deleted SQL database
2. deleted all site files
3. performed new clean instillation

The NicePPD does not receives IPN messages from PayPal…

So I just sent you login data as a PM.
I appreciate if you check it by yourself.
Thanks

Hey Michael,
I guess I found the decision. It looks like it related to MyHostServer setup configuration.

I tried to enable ALL modules available with my HostSever PHP5.2 and I received IPN message. So far so good.

But I can not keep ALL modules enabled. So I need your support regarding modules I have to enable / disable. There is a list of enabled modules by default (no IPN messages can be properly received be NicePPD):
Image

Thus, which modules I have to enable / disable???
Thanks

Michal,
I solved it. Now IPNs works.
The issue depends on OpenSSL. If this module disabled, no IPNs can be properly accepted by NicePPD. I believe there are some dependencies in modules also, but I’m not a professional to identify it.
Current workable configuration is:

I appreciate your comments on other modules I’d enable / disable. Not just regarding NicePPD, but in general, connected to PayPal system..
Thanks.

Hi Ilya,

I think that is it! I am so happy that you were able to figure it out.

The extension uses fsockopen (a native PHP function) to communicate with PayPal.

Excerpt from PHP manual

"fsockopen — Open Internet or Unix domain socket connection

If OpenSSL support is installed, you may prefix the hostname with either ssl:// or tls:// to use an SSL or TLS client connection over TCP/IP to connect to the remote host."

When the extension communicates with PayPal it sends its communication requests to "ssl://www.paypal.com", which as you can see is an ssl:/ URL. According to the PHP documentation OpenSSL must be enabled for fsockopen to make ssl:/ socket connections.

Well done!
