How to install

When I try using "Upload Package File", I get the following message... "Unable to find install package".

What is the problem? I have a 1.5.23 Joomla installation.

Hi,

You need to unzip the original download first. Inside the original download you will find several installation zip files. Each of these installation zip files corresponds to a particular Joomla version. Note the prefix of the name of the installation zip files to determine which Joomla version the installation package is compatible with. For example the file named Joomla_1.5-nicepaypalbtn_2.84.zip has the prefix Joomla_1.5- and should used to install the extension into Joomla 1.5 sites.

That is what I did and I get the error as stated in the original message. No what do I do?

The zip file only includes a .php file, an .xml file and a language folder.

I also tried uploading the files via FTP and taking the second option in the Install menu (install from a directory) and get the message "enter a package directory".

Please help as I am trying to setup a donate button for a special website and need it by tomorrow.

Finally figured it out using the second install option... definitely need to have the correct pathing, but it is installed now.

Hi,

I am glad that you were able to get it working. Double check the tmp folder path in your configuration.php file. Sometimes an incorrect tmp folder path can be at the root of these things.

i got this message : JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find XML setup file

Why you don't had the XML to the it ??? It is not normal that we need to upload the module by had and losse hours looking on the web how to do it !

Please fix this as soon as possible, and please send me the exact explanations on how to upload it manually

I got your email and have responded to it. The reason you are getting an error is because you are trying to install the Nice PayPal Button for Wordpress into you Joomla site. Wordpress plugins are not compatible with Joomla. Wordpress plugins are for use with the Wordpress system. For more information on Wordpress see the link below.
