Donate Button Not Showing

Hi, just bought installed and configured Nice Paypal Button as per instructions on Joomla 2.5

Plugin is enabled, but when I enter this in an article :

{nicedonate:||Donate to the SRGC}

That is exactly what shows up - no button - just that text - as if the plugin was not enabled or installed. Have tried removing and re installing. Just the same.

Any ideas

Hi,

Did you install the correct version of the plugin. The download file comes with a version for Joomla 1.5 and a version for Joomla 2.5. The file names denote which version of the plugin belongs to which versions of Joomla. The Joomla 1.5 version will not work correctly with Joomla 2.5

Yes, I even tried the other just in case, it didn't show the Basic Options page. Reinstalled the 2.5 version, Basic Options page back, still no luck. I wonder if it's an incompatibly with another plug in?

Actually I just disabled all other non out of the box plug ins and it's the same, so it's not that. Weird.

Well, I tested your tag on my test site and it works great.

So, it isn't a syntax error. It could be a hidden HTML issue. Sometimes, hidden HTML code will get copied into the tag by accident. You can check for this by toggling your article wysiwyg editor to HTML view. The tag should look the same in both views. Hidden HTML is a common culprit.

Also, I know this may be a dumb question, but, are you sure you installed Nice PayPal Donations, and not Nice PayPal Button? I have seen some folks mix the two up before. If you are using Nice PayPal Button then theres a different tag syntax that you need to follow.

Nope, that's not a dumb question at all. The problem is a dumb user. That's EXACTLY what was wrong.

Read the instructions carefully !
