Nice Tweets request error: HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized

Just downloaded and installed, and get this error when adding and updating articles

Nice Tweets request error: HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized

I can't see what we may have done wrong in config as is nice and simple. Have re-entered twitter credentials

Please advise.

Were you able to get it to work at all before you got the error?

According to Twitter, the only reason you would get this error is if the credentials were incorrect.

Have you attempted to login through the Twitter home page using the same credentials? Test them to make sure they are correct.

Hello

Thank you for the prompt response.

It was the credentials, although they were entered correctly. I logged into twitter and changed my password and then all was okay.

Bit strange, but all working now.

Twitter has made changes to their security protocol as of August 31, 2010 (see announcement, http://dev.twitter.com/announcements). Your current version of the Nice Tweets extension is not compliant with Twitter's new OAuth security protocol.

In order to stay compliant with these new changes we have upgraded the Nice Tweets extension to version 2.0 and have now released it for distribution. Along with the security compliance changes, we have packed the new version with many robust features not available older versions.

Please be advised, you will need to upgrade your installation of the Nice Tweets extension (to version 2.0) in order for it to work successfully with Twitter due to the OAuth security changes made on their end. If it has been less than 3 months since you first downloaded the extension, you can get the new version by revisiting your original download page.

To upgrade, simply uninstall the original plugin and install the new extension. The set up/configuration of the extension requires a few additional steps (required by Twitter). Please follow the instructions found on the documentation page, http://www.trinitronic.com/index.php/Do ... ation.html
