Free membership with a password

I love it when the client comes up with a query like this AFTER the event. She wants to be able to grant free membership to selected users. I can create a second membership with no associated fees, but is it possible to integrate a password so that you can only subscribe if you know what it is?

Or is there a better way to do it?

Thinking as I type ... I could setup a hidden page and let her have the URL and on that page have the join button to the zero-fee list.

Any other ideas?

Hi John,

Currently, all memberships have to be sent through PayPal, in order to be managed by the Nice Memberships extension. And, PayPal does not except zero dollar transactions. However, since the Nice Memberships extension utilizes the native Joomla user management system for all of its users, you can simply add the selected "free" accounts as standard Joomla users assigned to the user groups that relate to the memberships. The free users will not show up under the Nice Memberships system. But, they will enjoy the same level of access as the paid members.
