The Nice Memberships extension needs all transactions to be processed through PayPal. So, the extension does not support free memberships. However, you still can offer free memberships. What you would need to do is allow users to register with the site using Joomla's standard registration process, this is the free membership. Once user's have sign up for for the free membership, you can promote the paid membership through the Nice Memberships extension.

From my app I check if the user is part of groupA to display to him/her that part of the app

Even though that user has access to app C (free app) because he is logged in, that user might not want to use or even see all the free apps I have.

By making that user subscribe or unsubscribe to free app C he/she determine if the app shows for him

The goal being that adding the free app to his subscriptions be an act on his part rather than see all the fere apps

Take a look at Nice Content Access. Watch the video it might be what you are looking for.

Nice Content Access Lite

You can even try out the free lite version. Please read the documentation for the lite version. It works a bit differently than the full version (shown in the video).

No, that does not help.

I mean I used the idea for the registration page to display wither the subscribe or a message to register using the nice access.
the idea is good but my whole application that peoples subscribe to looks at if a user is a member of a group

(I do have the bundle)

I think a "free" subscription or free "membership" should be added to the module (or maybe another module like "nice free membership" :)

Ah, I understand now. Yes, there have been a number of requests for the addition free membership management. I am not sure when, but, I will be adding the feature in the future.

Hi,

You can make the owner's Joomla user account a Super User. That gives the owner full access rights to the entire site. To do this, do the following.

1. Log in to Joomla's admin area.
2. Go to Users>>User Manager
3. Find the owner's user account and click into it, or create a new account.
4. While on the user account details page, find the check box list labelled "Assigned User Groups"
5. Tick the check box labelled "Super Users"
6. Save you changes.

Now the owner's account will have full access to the website.

~ Enjoy
