Hi,
Thanks a bunch for your interest in my extensions. I appreciate it.
1. Member Profile Page: We're working on the design of the site at the moment and need to know what member profile pages are available (if any) and what content they contain. I assume that once a member has logged in, he should be able to access his profile page that lets him know the status of his current membership, etc. If the component does provide such a page for members, would it be possible to let me know what data is available on this page? (even a screenshot will do.). Also, if such a page is provided by the component, do we have any control over what is displayed on the page? (e.g. directly via component or indirectly via template overrides).
The Nice Memberships extension does not provide a profile page for its members. It does have a Profile plugin that appends membership information to the Joomla profile page (ships with Joomla). The information provided is basically two lists. One list of the members current memberships and one list of all other available memberships. If the Joomla profile page is not desirable, you can use any other profile extension and link the user to the main Nice Memberships page yourdomain.com/index.php?option=com_nicememberships. The main nice memberships page shows the same two lists to its visitors.
2. Multiple Memberships: Is it possible for users who are already members of a group X, to signup to another group Y, such that their new membership levels grant them access to content from both membership groups X and Y?
Yes, the extension adds levels of access with each additional subscription. So, if a member of group X subscribes to group Y, the members will belong to both groups X and Y. This is true as long as both subscriptions remain in good standing. If one expires, then the user will be removed from the respective group.
What the extension will not do (except for cancellation and expiration) is remove users from user groups. If a member belongs to user groups X and Y, membership Z cannot subtract either X or Y from the member. It can only add group Z.
Also, you say that you are re-designing your site. It seems fair to point out that, at this time, there is no good method for migrating subscribers from other subscription extensions to Nice Memberships. Currently, the Nice Memberships extension needs all of its members to be signed up through its system.
